Feed My Sheep
“So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”
He said to him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”
Jesus said to Him, “Feed my lambs.”
He said to him a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?”
Peter answered Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love you.”
Jesus said to him, “Tend My sheep.”
He siad to him a third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love me?”
And He said to Him, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.”
Jesus said to him, “Feed My Sheep.” ~John 21:15-17
This passage has become very special to me these last couple of months. It might seem insignificant, one of those passages that is very hard to apply to our own life. But as to mine, I feel that Jesus is asking me, “Hannah, do you love me?” I answer, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He tells me, “Feed my sheep.”
Who are Jesus’ “sheep”? I believe that they are all the people that He created, but especially the hurting and poverty stricken ones. Just like a good shepard would do, His desire is to find that one sheep that has gone astray and bring it back home into his loving arms. He wants them to know that He loves His sheep so much that He died and rose again so that They could have eternal life with him someday.
That is the essence of why I am going on this trip to the DR. I want to show people that God loves and cares for them and wants them to accept his gift of eternal life. I want to help feed His sheep.
That is so awesome Hannah! We are sending a check out in today’s mail and will keep you in our prayers. Love you!
What a great post, thank-you Hannah for your words of encouragement.
